to languidness

tum aaye ho, na shab-e-intezaar guzri hai
talaash mein hai seher, baar baar guzri hai

na gul khilein hain, na unse milein hain, na mai pi hai
ajeeb rang mein abke bahaar guzri hai

junoon mein jitni bhi guzri bakaar guzri hai
agarche dil pe kharaabi hazaar guzri hai

bakaar – worthwhile; agarche – though

– faiz

neither have you come, nor has the night of longing passed. the morning, too, waits for you, and has many times passed.

i only wait for that moment. when i can come alive again. when life, again, feels like it matters. when someone says, “i love you”. when eyes meet and don’t part. through the silences, the souls speak. i await that moment. until then, life goes on, as if, death has overcome it.
